Making Amigos in Mexico
While vacationing in Mexico, most people enjoy the beautiful beaches or explore the ancient Mayan ruins. But when three Pennsylvania brethren recently visited with their wives, they had another destination in mind.
Why not visit a Masonic lodge?
Brother Dave Jenkins, P.M., Good Samaritan Lodge No. 336, Gettysburg, and Brothers Gary Noblit, Junior Warden, and Bill Wilson, Red Lion Lodge No. 649, have been friends and members of Widows Sons PA Raised and Squared Chapter 11 for about 10 years.
While their wives enjoyed the resort, the three Pennsylvania Masons arranged to meet three brethren from Respetable Logia Masónica Alfa y Omega Lodge No. 50, Cabo San Lucas Baja California Sur: Gaston Wenceslao Montaño Alvarez, Venerable Master; Omar Smith Mendivil, Junior Warden; and Jesús González Fontanies, Secretary.
“It was great fellowshipping with these brothers,” Gary said. While they missed Alfa y Omega’s lodge meeting by a week, he said, “They gave us a tour of their lodge, and we had a great time together talking about our lodges. They were very friendly and hospitable.”
The Pennsylvania brethren have stayed in contact with their Mexican brethren since their visit.
