Honoring Brother Larry Buzzard for 25+ Years of Distinguished Service
For over a quarter century, Brother Larry Buzzard has exemplified the finest traditions of Pennsylvania Freemasonry through his service as Director of Ritualistic Work. Appointed on Dec. 27, 1999, Brother Larry has guided generations of officers and instructors with steady leadership and an unwavering commitment to excellence in our ritual.
Larry was raised in Howell Lodge No. 405, Honey Brook, in 1980, where he served as Worshipful Master in 1984 and has continued as a Trustee for more than 30 years. From 1994 – 1999, he served as Regional Instructor for Region 2, preparing him for his longtime role overseeing the ritualistic instruction of lodges across the Commonwealth.
In 2009, the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania recognized his extraordinary dedication and service by bestowing upon him the Franklin Medal, the highest honor in Pennsylvania Freemasonry. His careful stewardship has preserved the dignity, precision and symbolism of our ritual, ensuring that every candidate’s experience remains a meaningful and transformative moment in his Masonic journey.
The Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania extends its profound gratitude to Brother Larry for his many years of loyal service, mentorship and friendship. His influence will continue to inspire all who strive to keep our ritual – and our Craft – true to its timeless principles.
“Many of us do not remember a time before Brother Larry was the Director of Ritualistic Work for our Grand Lodge. His mastery of our ceremonies and tireless commitment to excellence have inspired thousands of brethren across Pennsylvania. He will retire with the title of Director Emeritus of Ritualistic Work and be given all of the rights and privileges commensurate with that title. Brother Larry, thank you for your exemplary service!”
