Do You Know a Child or Family in Need?

For nearly 113 years, Pennsylvania Masons have supported children through the Masonic Children’s Home. Founded to care for orphans, the home has evolved to serve children facing various kinds of hardship today.

Located at Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, the home welcomes school-aged children from across Pennsylvania. Up to 40 children live in five family-style cottages and attend the Elizabethtown Area School District.

Because the Masonic Children’s Home receives no government funding, support from lodges, individual donors and planned gifts makes it possible to provide children with:

• Safe housing
• Nutritious meals
• Medical care
• Academic support and tutoring
• Emotional support services
• Extracurricular opportunities
• Stability, guidance and encouragement

Brother Mark Kurzenknabe, Director of the Children’s Home, shares: “We help provide children with a life they otherwise wouldn’t have. I ask Masons to consider whether a child or family they know may be a good fit. You can help change a life forever.”

• Do you know a family facing financial hardship or housing instability?
• Are you connected to schools, churches or social service organizations that provide referral services for those in need?
• Do you know a child who needs a safer, more stable environment?

A referral from a caring Mason can make all the difference.

Children considered for admission must:

• Be in grades 1 through 12
• Be a U.S. citizen
• Have a legal guardian who resides in Pennsylvania
• Demonstrate a need for placement

Needs may include family instability, incarceration of a parent, financial hardship, unsafe living conditions or similar challenges. Siblings may be admitted together when appropriate and space allows.

Each child is carefully evaluated to ensure the home can meet their needs and provide the best opportunity for success.
